Noah Centineo's new Netflix show TheRecruit gets a first-look image.
A synopsis, premiere date, and first-look image have been revealed for Noah Centineo's new Netflix series The Recruit. Although he first broke out in the series The Fosters, making his first appearance as Jesus Adams Foster in 2015, it wasn't until he started working with Netflix that Centineo really blew up in popularity. After playing the romantic lead Peter Kavinsky in their YA adaptation To All the Boys I've Loved Before, he became a hugely sought-after star.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Nearly every major project featuring Centineo after To All the Boys, except the 2019 reboot of Charlie's Angels, was a Netflix production. However, the young star has recently been taking on slightly more adult roles outside of Netflix's bounds. This includes the Jackie Chan-directed Shanghai romantic drama The Diary and the upcoming DCEU film Black Adam.
The Recruit is a Big Step in Noah Centineo's Move Away from Teen Rom-Coms It seems that one of the ways that Netflix has enticed Centineo back into the fold is to allow him to spread his wings in a brand-new genre. This image would certainly seem to imply that The Recruit is an action-packed thriller, which is a far cry from his previous work on the platform.
It will be interesting to see how fans react to The Recruit when it is released. While it may be difficult for To All the Boys fans to separate him from his romantic character at first, if he plays his cards right, they may be able to get on board rather quickly. Peter was something of a bad boy with a heart of gold, which is a perfect character archetype for action thrillers, and may provide Centineo the key for showing off his range among different genres.
