Nora's mum Meabh and dad Sebastian believe there was a 'criminal element' in their daughter's death
The grief-stricken parents of an Irish girl found dead in the Malaysian rainforest are demanding answers after being told the case has been closed and an inquest is not needed.
The Quoirins do not believe their "vulnerable" daughter, who had learning difficulties, was alone the entire time she was missing and they say Malaysian police have refused to answer their questions or hand over a full copy of the post-mortem report. Nora's parents, who are suing the resort, say there has been a lack of updates and explanation from Malaysian authorities, and the investigation has been closed without "full process".
"We must emphasise however that this is only a brief extract of what will be the full post-mortem report, which is as yet still unavailable."It may reveal other significant details that contributed to Nora’s death, such as why a severe ulcer was triggered so quickly in her body. "As a vulnerable child, with significant physical and mental challenges, we strongly refute any conclusion that Nora was alone for the entire duration of her disappearance.
The force believed she died two or three days before she was found, meaning she was alive for about a week in the jungle.
