Britannia Hotels was voted the country's worst hotel chain for the 10th consecutive year in 2022 but had enjoyed booming business. She added: "The stairwells were again stinking and absolutely thick with dust. The smell in the open area was worse than the damp smell, a combination of BO, damp, food and like someone had been smoking. It made me feel very sick. Its hotels rated just two stars out of five for categories such as cleanliness, bed comfort and value for money in the annual survey by consumer group Which?. It received an overall customer satisfaction score of just 56%.
