Those living in North Lanarkshire pay £3.25 a day for their child to be provided a lunchtime meal, meanwhile in Glasgow the price is only £1.90.
A Morningside mum has hit out at the cost of school meals, with the council charging parents the most out of every local authority in the country.
A family in the region who has one child in P6 and P7 could be shelling out a total of £170 a month and £1615 over the school year. "We believed that this service would then be offered to P6 and P7 pupils, however, this has never happened. It feels like the parents are being penalised for having older children and subsidising the lunch being provided by the council to younger children.
"If it is a problem with funding issues there are a number of charities who can help. Greggs do sponsored breakfast clubs for schools who don't have it.
