Erich Douglas Klinger allegedly assaulted his wife, broke her nose, and pointed a handgun at her and threatened her life

According to the police report, Klinger has a long history of domestic assault and violating protective orders from his wife.

Klinger is also said to have threatened to kill any police officer that showed up on scene to arrest him. Officers attempted to arrest Klinger, but he had barricaded himself inside a residence. Alaska State Troopers decided to avoid a confrontation at that time. Around 7 a.m. Thursday morning, April 14, the Fairbanks Criminal Suppression Unit was dispatched, and was able to locate Klinger through active surveillance. Several other law enforcement units responded to Badger Gas, where Klinger was taken into custody without incident. Multiple items were seized from his vehicle, including a handgun.Copyright 2022 KTVF. All rights reserved.
