There is just a couple of days left before Santa and his mischievous elves can descend down the chimneys of good boys and girls this Christmas. Now is the dreaded time when parents all over the UK are busy answering questions left, right and centre about Father Christmas.
But we don’t always have the answers to all the questions that our children have. Little minds are full of curious questions like how does Father Christmas deliver all his gifts in one evening? And how many exactly does he have to deliver?Packaging Online have calculated this year's answer for you to tick one thing off your Christmas to-do list. By looking at how many children are in the UK of ‘believing age’ they figured out how many boxes Santa would need to work his miracles.
Their calculations showed that the big man would need 19,146,220 boxes to make all his deliveries including a box for stocking filling goodies and one for an extra little something under the tree. Packaging Online experts also worked out how many boxes Father Christmas would need by area, showing his busiest stops in the UK.
The , meaning he has plenty of children to visit with 1,060,410 children in the North West alone. Assuming he needs two boxes per child to deliver his gifts, he has over two million boxes to get delivered. Lancashire sits within the top five of the busiest stops within the North West coming in third place. The company calculated Santa would be delivering 336,752 in the county this year- 394,736 in Merseyside and topping the list with 885,164 is Greater Manchester.
