Early glazed ceramics unearthed in pub restoration

Derek Roberts, from Pre-Develop Archaeology, who is leading the dig, said Norman pits, walls, a flint blade, a cortical flake, pottery from the 1200s and signs of a fire had been discovered. An inn and domestic settlements have been found but no later domestic wares, which leaves a "massive gap". "Everything about it is very interesting as far as research and knowledge is concerned," said Derek Roberts
