It happened while the force was conducting its own drink driving campaign
A serving police officer from Northamptonshire Police has been banned from driving for almost two years after being convicted of drink-driving. The Force was conducting its own drink driving campaign at the time.
She was promptly arrested by fellow police officers for driving whilst over the limit and appeared at Oxford Magistrates' Court yesterday .The judge banned PC Cantwell from driving for 23 months and also handed her a community order. Whilst this has not been disclosed, community orders can include unpaid work, curfews or alcohol treatment.
The Force recently conducted a six-week drink driving campaign over Christmas in which 123 people were arrested on suspicion of drink driving. Only recently, they announced 16 drivers had been banned for a total of 28 years through their campaign.
