Former Ireland star Simon Zebo has said his own children have started to play rugby but he wishes they had got involved in a different sport.

“I’ve seen a lot of players have to retire through it, and that’s very dangerous - I don’t like it."

“They had ongoing issues well into middle age and these issues were as a result of injuries they had had as schoolboys when they were playing rugby in school.”Ms Berg said she has encountered slipped discs, disc prolapses and “all sorts” of neck injuries which her clients blamed on rugby.“Also to the head; you got the huge subconcussive impact going on that leads to neurological disease in later life.

Instead, she signed her children up for sailing, tennis and fencing - sports which they still play “to this day”.
