Notting Hill Carnival is getting under way for a third day, with two million people expected to descend on west London
The August bank holiday event is one of the longest running annual street parties in the world and the largest in Europe The community-led celebration of music, dancing, food and drink is rooted in Caribbean culture and has its origins in the late 1950s and 60s Monday is described as "adults day" - expect lots of dancing, parading and partying along with lavish costumes
This year's carnival is also celebrating and remembering the 75th anniversary of the docking of HMT Empire Windrush
