The board said it has been 'disappointed throughout its term of office at the pace of change in Nottingham'
A final report into Nottingham City Council 's finances has stated the authority "has still not fully accepted the gravity of the situation". The report was carried out by the Improvement and Assurance Board , which was appointed three years ago by the Government.
This happened following the collapse of Robin Hood Energy, a council-run company set up in 2015. While progress in a number of areas has been observed, the report states that the council's financial position remains "a very serious one, with significant shortcomings in budgetary control and the underlying level of spend, despite progress with the financial improvement programme."
The report concluded that the council's success in the future is dependent on a workforce culture "which fully embraces its need to deliver quality and cost-effective services to the citizens". The IAB has also been disappointed throughout its term of office at the pace of change in Nottingham.
