Nottingham Forest captain Joe Worrall is understood to have agreed a new long-term contract with the club.
The 26-year-old returned from suspension for his first match since it became public knowledge that his uncle, police sergeant Graham Saville had died in the line of duty when he was hit by a train while trying to help a distressed man. "I don't think we could begin to understand what him and his family have been through. They're a very close family and it hit them extremely hard, beyond words I can use here. I think it tells you about the man, why he's the captain of our club and why he's held in such high regard by everyone who knows him," he said.
"He was immense at the weekend. There were big performances throughout that team. I'm tremendously proud of him as a friend and a footballer. It's remarkable how the mind can work in a time of sadness and crisis.
