The area has flooded before
A Nottinghamshire park and ride site will be closed on Friday, October 20, due to potential flooding. Nottingham City Transport announced the decision for the Queen's Drive Park and Ride due to river level projections in light of Storm Babet.
An alternative site will be available at Racecourse Park and Ride, NG2 4BE. The Navy 49 line will operate as normal, but miss the Park and Ride site, the operator said in a statement. This comes as Nottinghamshire is set to be hit by an amber weather warning of heavy rain from 12noon on Friday, October 20, lasting until 6am on Saturday, October 21. A yellow warning for rain will also be in place from 12midnight until Saturday at 6am.
The site was previously closed in January 2021 for more than a month following a flooding warning from the Environment Agency. Queen's Drive runs along the River Trent, close to the NG2 Business Park and the Meadows. The transport links provide a vital connection between areas outside Nottingham and big employers in the area such as the QMC.
