The annual event will have an extra week of festive fun
Summertime fun in Nottingham has only just come to an end but already thoughts have turned to Christmas with the official announcement about this year's Winter Wonderland. The annual event sprinkles a touch of festive magic over Old Market Square - but for 2023 it will be even longer than usual.
After making its debut last year the Sky Skate path will return, along with the ice rink for budding Torvill and Deans to show off their axels... or novices can just cling on to the side. For anyone who doesn't feel like putting their skates on, there is a themed Ice Bar, kept at a chilling -10 degrees. Coats and gloves are provided to enjoy a drink from an ice glass.
The Christmas market stalls have something for everyone, with local and international traders supplying everything from hand-made gifts and delicious food to mulled wine or a classic hot toddy. Tastyoptions will be on offer at Melt & Grill, the in-house kitchen, for visitors to enjoy whilst taking in the live entertainment programme. To be sure of a seat advance booking online is recommended.
For the ultimate indulgence, visitors can choose the Sky Skate VIP experience. This exclusive package includes a rink-side table with food and drinks, along with convenient on-and-off access to the ice path.
