Nottinghamshire Live will take a step behind the scenes at hospitals in the city and give you an insight into some of the great innovations and work going on. In partnership with Nottingham University Hospitals , we will visit numerous departments across the Queen's Medical Centre and City Hospital, bringing you interviews with staff and patients.
These stories will be published in a series of features, starting from next week. Topics include surgery recovery, where we will shadow a patient who has had a hip or knee replacement from the operation all the way through to discharge. We will also mark the 10th anniversary of the the East Midlands' only major trauma centre at the QMC, speaking to staff about their memories and showing what their average day entails.
NUH is one of the largest hospital trusts in England, employing more than 16,500 staff. It provides care to more than 2.5million residents of Nottinghamshire and a further three to four million from neighbouring counties. The trust has three sites - the Queen's Medical Centre, City Hospital and Ropewalk House - and holds approximately 1,700 beds across 90 wards. The QMC houses the city's A&E department.
