It has some famous connections

The owners of pubs including The Lion at Brinsley and Oliver's Pub & Kitchen in Eastwood have announced "big news" that they're launching a new venue. The family-run business is going from strength to strength and say it's all thanks to their regulars.

Kane Oliver said: "It was there Sir Cliff Richard was discovered. My understanding is he had a fan club who met there in the past so hopefully we can resurrect that."It is a new branch in our line of hospitality businesses, the first one outside Nottinghamshire. It won't just be a nightclub, we want to see comedy in there and bring it back round to an entertainment centre.

"It's beautiful. It hasn't been open since coronavirus>Covid - the gentleman who had it before has had enough of the game now, he's ready to hand over the baton. It is hoped that the Regal, in Nottingham Road, will reopen at the end of June or beginning of July. The Oliver family also runs Dirty Berty's, a bar beneath Oliver's Pub & Kitchen, and they're also working on turning a former bank into a hotel in Eastwood.
