NPD says MultiVersus was July’s best-selling video game in the US | VGC

MultiVersus was July’s best-selling game in the US, driven by sales of its Founder’s Pack bundles, according to market research firm the NPD Group

generated the highest dollar sales of all consoles in both July and 2022 year to date, while Switch led both time periods based on unit sales.

NPD analyst Mat Piscatella said total consumer spending on game hardware, content and accessories in July dropped 9% compared to the same period last year, to $4.18 billion. Year to date spending totalled $30.5 billion, representing a 10% decline compared to the same period in 2021, with subscription content remaining the only major spending category to experience growth.
