NSW recorded 265 new locally acquired cases and five COVID-19 deaths on Monday as the state celebrated its first weekend of eased restrictions.
The 265 cases came from a total of 60,273 tests with 606 COVID-19 patients in hospital, 132 in intensive care.
Further freedoms were granted to the fully vaccinated on Monday after the state reached 80 per cent double-dose vaccination coverage. “Restrictions will ease further on Monday, so keep up to date with NSW Health and Service NSW. Summer in NSW is looking good.” From October 18, face masks will no longer be required in office settings, residents can stand in pubs, hospitality venues and hit the dance floor.
