Nvidia showcases new AI-powered robot training technology, upgraded gaming chips, and a partnership with Toyota at CES 2025. Meanwhile, a new report reveals Ireland is facing significant skills shortages in privacy analyst and IT roles.
Nvidia has unveiled new products such as artificial intelligence to better train robots and cars, souped-up gaming chips and its first desktop computer, as it expounded upon its potential to expand its business. At CES 2025 , a major annual tech conference in Las Vegas, chief executive Jensen Huang laid out how the world's second-most valuable firm is bringing technology that powers its lucrative data centre AI chips to consumer PCs and laptops.
He also introduced what Nvidia calls Cosmos foundation models that generate photo-realistic video which can be used to train robots and self-driving cars at a much lower cost than using conventional data. In other news, privacy analyst positions are the hardest to fill in Ireland with 54 per cent of advertisements remaining open for more than two months, new analysis has shown. Research from Indeed found that nine out of the 20 hardest roles to fill are in the engineering field, while software developers and tax managers were also among the hardest vacancies to resolve. The job advertisement company examined postings from January 1 to December 1 in 2024, and analysed which positions were most likely to remain open for more than 60 days
