A man found dead Saturday morning lodged inside a sewage hole in Jack London Square has been named by the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office coroner’s office.
He was identified Monday as Ian Fabio, 41. As of Monday evening, an autopsy that will determine his exact cause of death had not been done.
The narrow hole is on the sidewalk between a restaurant and a construction site.He was feet first inside the hole and his arms were about a foot from the top, authorities said. How long he had been in the hole and why is under investigation.The hole has since been covered over by city workers.
