A 25-year-old Oakland man allegedly held the victim at gunpoint, then drove around with her underage sister for an hour before letting the sister go.
OAKLAND — A city resident has been arrested and charged with human trafficking and other felonies for allegedly forcing a woman into prostitution, then holding her against her will when she tried to get away, court records show.
Ralvell Cullors, 25, is being held without bail at the Santa Rita Jail on felony charges of human trafficking for commercial sex, false imprisonment, and making criminal threats. He was arrested last February and is next due in court on May 12. A separate gun case has also been filed against him, according to jail records.
The charging documents allege that Cullors trafficked the victim, known in court records as Jane Doe, from August through December 2021. She told police she initially agreed to sex work, but whenever she spoke about quitting, “Cullors would physically assault and threaten her with a firearm,” an Oakland police investigator wrote in a sworn court statement.
This all came to a head on Dec. 6, when the victim tried to leave Cullors’ home, according to police. He allegedly backed Doe into a restroom at gunpoint, locked her inside and threatened to kill her. Investigators say she was able to escape the residence, leaving her 15-year-old sister inside with Cullors.
