It's going to get very cold
A cold snap is on the way with temperatures expected to dip below zero on Saturday night.
As the festive spirit takes hold of the nation, it is now even money from 6/4 that it snows on Christmas Day. Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes told RSVP Live: "Festive cheer has well and truly gripped the nation and Met Eireann’s latest frosty update, coupled with a surge in betting overnight has forced us to slash the odds on a White Christmas."
The forecast on Met.ie says: "Staying dry in many areas with sunny spells, isolated showers will continue, mainly in the eastern half of the country. Some of the showers may turn to sleet over hills and mountains."[On Sunday night] Minimum temperatures of 1 to 6 degrees, coldest in the midlands, in mainly light northeasterly breezes.""Plenty of dry weather is expected, though there may be some wintry showers at times.
