Timothy W. Wright, 50, of Dublin, Ohio, reportedly admitted to paying minors for nude images and to perform sexual acts.
COLUMBUS, Ohio — A Dublin, Ohio, man who hid a camera in the bathroom of his home to secretly record minors is facing a maximum of 30 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography and exploiting children, authorities say.
Timothy W. Wright, 50, entered his plea Thursday in U.S. District Court in Columbus, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Ohio. Prosecutors say Wright admitted to hiding the camera and produced pornographic images of two minors. He watched the feed live in order to record and save images on his phone, prosecutors say. Approximately 27 videos and 152 images from the hidden camera were found hidden on Wright’s phone.
Wright also said he paid three other minors at least $300 on several occasions to have them lie nude on his bed. He would then engage in sex acts with the minors or masturbate, prosecutors say. He also paid the minors for nude images, which also were recovered from his phone, authorities say. The U.S. Attorney’s Office did not say when Wright will be sentenced, but he faces a minimum of 15 years and up to 30 years in prison.
