The chances that the Ohio lawmakers will legalize recreational marijuana became lower after Ohio Senate President Matt Huffman said he is not a fan of the proposal.

In this Sept. 25, 2018 photo, a worker holds a marijuana plant leaf in a massive tomato greenhouse being renovated to grow pot in Delta, British Columbia, that is operated by Pure Sunfarms, a joint venture between tomato grower Village Farms International, and a licensed medical marijuana producer, Emerald Health Therapeutics. On Oct. 17, 2018, Canada will become the second and largest country with a legal national marijuana marketplace.

“As it relates to recreational marijuana, I’m not in favor of it,” said Huffman, the top Republican in the Senate. “I’m not going to vote for it. I’m not going to support it.” Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
