The first Ohio Tech Summit, designed as a place for both techies and computer novices, is coming to John Carroll University’s campus in April.
Allen and Ohio X President and CEO Chris Berry see great things happening in Ohio’s tech scene. The problem, they said, is it’s spread out, unconnected and most people don’t know about it.
Berry said companies will have space to show off their work, whether it be the financial tech behind banking, electric-powered ways to get around town or the “metaverse of work” through a VR headset. Berry said tech is being infused into most companies now. Instead of an automaker or a hospital, many corporations see themselves as tech-companies that deliver healthcare or vehicles.
OhioX was created to help build Ohio into a tech hub, Berry said. There’s lots of tech, but its all separated.
