A roughly 52-acre parcel of waterfront land adjacent to Connecticut’s Great Island is coming on the market for $85 million
The listing for the undeveloped parcel of land follows a deal to sell an adjacent roughly 60 remaining acres on Great Island to the town of Darien
The listing for the property, known as Ziegler Farm, comes on the heels of a deal to sell Great Island, Conn., an affluent New York City suburb. That roughly 60-acre property is in contract, but the deal hasn’t yet closed. Ziegler Farm sits on Long Island Sound. It is adjacent to Great Island, which is in contract to sell for roughly $100 million.The only building on Ziegler Farm is an old cow barn, but it comes with approved plans to build up to 14 homes. Two paved roads are already in place, along with water, electric and sewer lines.
“We’re seeing quite a lot of interest in family compound setups since Covid,” she said. “People want a large property for themselves but they also want space for their children and grandchildren.”
