BRENTWOOD — A person died Friday after a big rig and another vehicle crashed on Highway 4 near a rural road in an unincorporated part of the city, the California Highway Patrol said.
The California Highway Patrol did not release many details initially. The crash involved an 18-wheeler truck and a sedan and happened about 9:40 a.m. on Hoffman Road, according to early reports confirmed by the agencyThe fatality marked the first one on Highway 4 this year. , the CHP investigated 15 fatal wrecks on the highway that resulted in the deaths of 19 people. Five fatal crashes have happened on the highway since Nov. 15.
