Opinion: As Bill Walton's homelessness complaints show, San Diego residents want sidewalks, parks back [Opinion]
Who could not be with Bill Walton and the disgust? Being a native born here in San Diego, I feel and see his disgust every day about the out-of-control homelessness situation. Last week, at our apartments in Midway District, we moved to temporary offices because new construction is to start. We were greeted in the morning at the office doors with human excrement.
Homeless people camp one-half block away, and the camp is growing on Hancock Street. A total disgrace in San Diego, any way you look at it. Bill Walton, we feel your pain. Thanks so much for speaking up. I, too, would like to just walk around our neighborhood without being intimidated by homeless people. Again, the situation is a total disgusting disgrace.County to recast homeless as health crisis
” Here is the unvarnished truth. The politicians and their high-priced consultants have kept the homelessness issue simmering for the past 40 years. Here is more truth. Very few people living on the street can function in a civil society. The citizens of this great city with their crocodile tears are delusional and playing the card of hypocrites. Nobody wants homeless people in their neighborhood. Yet everyone wants the homeless people in some other neighborhood. The homelessness fiasco can only be solved by criminalization, incarceration and, for the few willing, a benevolent helping hand out of their dilemma.
It’s time to stop bouncing the ball down the road by politicians who use the downtrodden for votes. This is immoral.
