Fentanyl is often added to other drugs because of its extreme potency, which makes drugs cheaper, more powerful, more addictive and more dangerous,Page-Shelton says intervention efforts, like Narcan training, have helped reduce fatal overdoses by equipping community members with the overdose-reversing medication.
Reducing substance use and non-fatal overdoses requires a broader approach to improve overall quality of life and stability for people.
