Ordinary Joe's Charlie Barnett gives reason for show's surprise cancellation
"And we know we've kind of seen that idea before. But they were playing it in a way that was really fascinating and interesting to me. It sounded like it was going to be really exciting. On a network platform – and this is not against network television, because I really do respect [it] and oftentimes… Network television gets a bad wrap.
"In the network world, something as complicated as that story, is a challenge and a f**king half. It's really hard to expand outside of [a core base], and encapsulate everyone's voices. Now, take that on top of literally three different storylines, and shit gets really, really, really confusing. "It wasn't for me, in a weird way. Even watching it, I thought I would be able to understand and track everything.. But I'm not sure that it ever had the space to let its wings kind of flap out... Television does not usually utilise that kind of patience, you know? So I'm not necessarily surprised to see it dead."
Despite his lack of surprise about the show ending, Barnett admitted that he is still upset to see it cancelled.
