“I want to be clear about Trossard. I’m sorry for the situation,” De Zerbi said after Brighton beat Liverpool 3-0 last weekend. “I’m fine with myself and I’m ready to open the doors for him, because he’s a good guy and a very important player for us. His contract is due to expire in the summer but the Seagulls are in a decent position as they have the option to extend his deal by a further year until 2024.
