Brave Tony is battling a rare and aggressive brain tumour which is exceptionally difficult to treat and has endured several chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions since his diagnosis in March

More than €345,000 has been raised to help prolong the life of a sports-mad nine-year-old boy from Co Derry who is currently battling a rare and aggressive brain tumour.

Tony currently isn't well enough to attend lessons at his school, Holy Family Primary School, and his parents have been forced to take sabbaticals from their work to care for the youngster. A message shared on the GoFundMe page reads: "Tony is an inspiration to us all. He has faced simultaneous chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments after his brain surgery and smiled through it all. Despite these grueling treatments, this wee warrior has tried his best to go to school at Holy Family Primary Magherafelt, where he loves to learn and play with his friends.
