The LetsGetChecked study found 50% of men and women admitted cost was a barrier for going to the doctor for a check-up.
More than half of adults didn’t visit their doctor for a check-up last year while less than a quarter will attend in 2020, a survey has revealed.
Dr Susan O’Sullivan said: “The findings highlight the current way of thinking is, ‘I should only get a health check if I have symptoms of an illness or if I feel extremely unwell’.
