Overall well-being of Alabama’s children ranked among the lowest in the country
MONTGOMERY, Ala. - Alabama ranks 47th in the country for overall child well-being. That’s according to the. The study does show positive movement in the state but also things that need more attention.
According to the data, there is only one mental healthcare provider for every 900 Alabamians; 10.5% of babies have low birth weights and there are 41 deaths of children and teens per 100 thousand.
