Met Éireann said temperatures will drop below zero on Monday night

Emer Flood, a forecaster with Met Éireann said that the weather this week is below average temperatures for the time of year.

“We have a cold air mass moving down over the country at the moment from the north, so that is going to give quite cold conditions tonight with a late season frost,” Ms Flood said on Monday morning. The ESB said that there had been “a few relatively small power outages” on Monday morning, which their crew had been responding to as they arise.Met Éireann said that it is expected to remain unsettled throughout the week, with “limited amounts of sunshine” and outbreaks of rain or drizzle.

Thursday is expected to be the warmest day of the week with temperatures getting up to between 13 and 17 degrees. The warmer spell is expected throughout the weekend and Met Éireann has indicated there is some high pressure developing for next week.
