Police are at the scene
A major road has been shut off by police this morning due to an 'ongoing incident'.
Oxford Road has been shut off in both directions between Booth Street West and Dover Street on Sunday morning. The closure came into force at around 6.20am It is not yet known what has caused the closure, but travel services are reporting it is due to a crash. Bus services are being forced to divert and police are at the scene.Transport for Greater Manchester has tweeted: "Oxford Road is closed between Booth Street West & Dover Street in both directions due to an ongoing police incident.
"All local buses are diverting via Hathersage Road, Upper Brook Street and Booth Street East in both directions." Travel service Inrix has said: "Oxford Road in both directions closed due to accident investigation work between Dover Street and Booth Street East."
