PennDOT trucks and crews are on their way to upstate New York to help with recovery from the deadly snow storm, according to the governor.
Pennsylvania is sending snow removal equipment and crews to the Buffalo area to assist with recovery from the deadly storm that battered upstate New York over Christmas weekend, Gov. Tom Wolf announced Thursday.
PennDOT is sending nine trucks along with crews and support staff to assist with snow removal, according to Wolf. PennDOT snow removal operators and equipment are expected to arrive in Buffalo Thursday and begin 24-hour operations. The death toll currently stands at 39 people, CNN reported earlier Thursday, citing Erie County, NY officials, with many of the dead found in snow-trapped vehicles.
