Five days ago, Aaron Rodgers said he believed 'things are looking up' when asked about the Green Bay Packers' 2022 season. And now he can say the same about his team's playoff chances after the Packers' 26-20 upset win over the Miami Dolphins on Christmas day.
Miami looked poised for another big offensive outing after Tagovailoa finished 9-12 for 229 yards and one touchdown that included huge passes to Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill. But second-half defensive adjustments by the Packers curbed Tagovailoa, who completed just seven passes only 81 yards and the three picks. Hill, who caught three passes for 84 yards in the first half, only caught one more pass for 20 yards the rest of the game.
The Dolphins final five possessions of the game going back to the second quarter were a fumble, missed field goal and then Tagovailoa's three interceptions.It was a vintage game for Rodgers, who looked every bit the back-to-back MVP in this game despite a season's worth of frustrations leading up to the matchup.
He completed 24-38 passes for 238 yards and a touchdown but also threw an interception in the end zone. Rodgers completed huge passes to set up the Packers' scoring drives, though, including a long pass to veteran tight end Marcedes Lewis .
