Sinn Fein councillor Paddy Holohan apologises but says comments on Leo Varadkar were 'misinterpreted'
Sinn Fein councillor and former MMA star Paddy Holohan has issued an apology over a number of comments he made about Taoiseach Leo Varadkar.
The 31-year-old's comments were met with fiery backlash and he has subsequently issued an apology, while adding that his comments were "misinterpreted", Dublin Live reports. Speaking on an episode of his 'No Shame' podcast Holohan said of Mr Varadkar: "We need people running the country, and not against Leo or anything like that but to me I want a family man running the country.
"The man that is a family man, goes to work, looks after his kids, has came up through the system, has experience ... someone who knows what the masses or people are going through"
