Padres left-hander Blake Snell dominated the Dodgers in 2020 World Series, but focus is on Friday's start in National League Division Series at Petco Park
left-hander Blake Snell figured the topic would come up as he took his seat at the podium Thursday afternoon at Petco Park.“I knew that question was coming,” Snell said. “That was inevitable. Yeah, it was one of my best starts. Yeah, I’ll keep it at that.”
He’s recorded outs in the sixth inning in just two of his 10 appearances, a cloud he’s largely been unable to escape so far in San Diego. Snell faced these Dodgers three times in 2022, striking out 23 against 10 walks over 14 innings , including a 12-strikeout game in which he allowed only one run in five innings July 1 and the five shutout innings he threw in late September in which he allowed just one hit.
“Just my release point, just my body syncing,” Snell said. “That’s all I really focused on this whole week. I like where it’s at, but the test is . So we’ll see where it’s at. I’m confident. I’m excited about it.Since forearm issues sent Tony Gonsolin to the injured list in late August, he’s thrown two innings in a rehab assignment and two innings in his lone big-league start, back on Oct. 3.
