Team says it wants to have single-game tickets available for '23; season-ticket base has doubled in past four years
The sale of season tickets for the 2023 season will cease on Feb. 4.
Greupner said late last season that the Padres expected to cap season-ticket sales in ’23, and Wednesday morning brought the announcement that will happen after the team’s FanFest at Petco Park. Single-game tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Feb. 7. Petco Park holds almost 45,000 for baseball, though a sellout is considered to have been achieved when attendance tops 40,000.
The Padres made the playoffs in 2020, though no fans were allowed in ballparks due to COVID restrictions. Even after a disappointing finish in 2021 and with season ticket prices having been raised for the first time in five years, the Padres eclipsed the 2004 record of 18,808 season ticket equivalencies. Last year’s deep run into the playoffs and the anticipation the Padres could have a roster capable of winning the franchise’s first World Series has further driven demand.
