Two men were seriously assaulted at a house in Lifford, Co Donegal this morning. One victim has been airlifted to a hospital in Belfast for treatment of serious injuries.
Two men have been injured in a serious assault at a house in Co Donegal. Emergency services were called to the scene near Coneyburrow Road in Lifford this morning. One man, aged in his 20s, was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast for treatment of serious injuries.
The second man, aged in his 60s, was taken by ambulance to Letterkenny University Hospital. His injuries are described as "less-serious". A scene has been sealed off for a technical examination and gardai are appealing for witnesses to come forward. A Garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are investigating an incident which occurred in Lifford, Co. Donegal, this morning, Monday, 20th January 2025. "Two men were seriously assaulted at a house at around 10am. One man was airlifted to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, for treatment of serious injuries. The second man was brought by ambulance to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment of less-serious injuries. "A scene is currently held for technical examination. Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward. "Any persons who may have camera footage from Coneyburrow Road, Lifford, between 10am and 11am, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí."
