After a day in the sun, the rider spiralled into the top of Great How Crags and hurt his neck.
However, Coniston Mountain Rescue were called to help carry the stretcher to the Helimed. He was then flown to Preston Hospital for further treatment.A spokesperson for Coniston Mountain Rescue said: "On another hot and sunny day, a paraglider had an issue with his parachute and spiralled into the top of Great How Crags, hurting his neck.
"Two Land Rovers went to the Levers Water dam, and the team hiked up via Levers Hause to the incident scene from there. We assisted the paramedics in loading the casualty onto their scoop stretcher and carried him to the helicopter. He was then flown to Preston Hospital for further treatment, while we carried his gear down the hill along with all our own kit."
