The government will be finalising their budget measures over the weekend ahead of the official announcement on the 10th of October - here's everything you need to know

Double Child Benefit A double payment of Child Benefit is on the cards for parents in the upcoming budget, following on from last year's autumn double payment. For any parents on social welfare payments, one-off bonus payments are also being considered. Free school books September saw the introduction of the free school books scheme for primary schools, but ministers are pushing for the scheme to be extended to secondary school students. With books costing hundreds per child, this would reduce a huge burden on parents of secondary school age.
