Certain parents and guardians fear that they won't get the €100 Child Benefit boost due to a date mix-up.
It is due to be paid in June 2023, which has led some parents with children over 16 years of age to be confused as to whether they will get it during the summer.Child Benefit is paid for a child aged under 16, however, people can still get it for a child aged 16 or 17, if they are in full-time education or full-time training or have a disability and cannot support themselves.
They normally get Child Benefit for July and August, but only if their child returns to education in September. When they receive their next payment, it will include any arrears. This will include Child Benefit for July and August.
