Parents weren't happy
Parents in Leeds are expressing their anger after hundreds of pupils have been told to stay home due to adverse weather.
today, with some also announcing they would be closed on Friday. Leeds City Council published a list of all the known closures, and some schools were contacting parents via text directly.Many schools closed between 1pm and 2pm to allow staff, pupils and parents to travel home safely. Parents on social media have called out the closures, with many saying it's unnecessary to shut the schools.
Carl said: "Back when I went to John Smeaton my class was a old porter cabin with no heating but can’t remember it ever closing for a snow flake snow." Richard added: "Snow hasn't even settled! Any excuse for time off!"
