The Scottish Government has issued a consultation on revised guidance on the delivery of relationships, sexual health and parenthood (RSHP) education in school
Perth and Kinross parents are being asked for their opinions on proposed changes to the delivery of relationships, sexual health and parenthood education in schools.New guidance is being put forward "given the passage of time and the change in social fabric".
Perth and Kinross Council has advised parent councils of the consultation with many parents having been unaware of the proposed changes. The revised guidance also provides more detail on the process for withdrawing a child or young person from RSHP education. A PKC spokesperson said: "Parent councils have been advised the Scottish Government is consulting on its draft statutory guidance for the delivery of relationships, sexual health and parenthood education in schools so they can respond if they wish.Conservative Mid Scotland and Fife MSP Liz Smith had strong concerns over the Scottish Government’s Health and Wellbeing Census - introduced in 2021 - for pupils aged P5-S6.
