Matt Parkinson could be the solution to England's wicket-taking problem
Mark Butcher believes that England should play Matt Parkinson instead of Chris Woakes in the third Test against the West Indies – if the wicket in Grenada to is anything like the two surfaces they have played on so far.
With all-rounder Ben Stokes now fit enough to play a full role as a fifth bowler, England could still play three seamers alongside two spinners, Jack Leach and Parkinson. Another bonus for England is that unlike many wrist spinners who have a reputation for leaking runs, Parkinson’s career economy rate is a miserly 2.77, which will allay any fears that England may need a safety net in another bowler if they are to play him.and has taken just two wickets in two matches.
