Dallas startup UpSmith. and American Residential Services are creating a paid training program for aspiring HVAC technicians that leads to real jobs.
After training, graduates can make $20-$25 an hour. The city says the plan by startup UpSmith and construction company ARS boosts its workforce development efforts.
Dallas startup UpSmith and American Residential Services are leading efforts to create “high-purpose, high-pay, high-dignity career opportunities” across Texas for aspiring HVAC technicians through a paid training program that leads to real jobs. “We are excited to announce our partnership with UpSmith in addressing the skilled worker shortage across Dallas and Houston,” said Chris Snow, ARS’ chief human resource officer. “With their support, we will be able to provide enhanced services to our valued customers and communities. The ARS network is proud to pioneer these paid on-ramps to welcome new, hard-working talent into our industry.
