Christopher Zietek and Anthony Beard were caught supplying Scotland's most high-wanted fugitives with fake passports after a five-year court surveillance operation.
Two men who supplied fraudulent passports to Scotland's most wanted fugitives have had their "unduly lenient" prison sentences increased.
The pair were convicted of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice and conspiracy to make a false instrument with intent at Reading Crown Court earlier this year. Zietek was sentenced to eight years' imprisonment while Beard was ordered to serve six years and eight months. "Where the criminals already were abroad, the passports were delivered to them. The execution of arrest warrants was impeded. Criminal proceedings whether in this jurisdiction or in Scotland were delayed. Zietek was fully aware of the nature of the crimes committed by those he assisted. He was closely associated with professional organised crime at the highest level."
